This morning Kailin wanted to read bible stories. As we were reading she spilled her milk. Then she started telling me that Jesus was in her wet wipe I gave her to clean up her spilled milk. I wasn't sure how to react to that, and I didn't want to laugh out loud - because WHO KNOWS what a two year old and Jesus have going on.
Went to Sam's Club and Wal-mart in the pouring rain and on the way noticed my windshield wiper was torn. Good timing since I was already on the way to the store! So I made a mental note to buy windshield wipers. Did our shopping thing- managed to make it in the store and out of the rain toting two kids without getting (terribly) drenched. On a side note - I stalk a particular shopping cart at Wal-mart. The store only has one because they are demo-ing it (I know because I asked), but it is the best one for multiple children. The straps are actually intact and buckle properly and the kids are faced out over the cart sitting side by side where they can watch where we are going - unlike the other ones where they face each other at my knee level and get bored and hence play "how much can we beat on each other" throughout every shopping trip. I wondered how many other moms stalk the shopping cart like I do.
I was so proud of myself because I remembered to buy 2 birthday cards and a sympathy card even when it wasn't on my shopping list. Realized as I drove out of the parking lot and turned my windshield wipers on that I forgot to buy windshield wipers. Realized when I got home and unpacked everything that the 2 birthday cards and sympathy card never made it into my bags. I wondered what the heck happened to my cards and if the check-out girl might feel badly about the situation. Sigh.
Decided coffee would make it better. Heat up coffee, forgot it was in the microwave.
10 minutes later.
Reheat.
Got the kids a snack and tried to translate what Cole was grunting for and what Kailin was talking about.
She wanted the "Beautiful Chex" - translation? Frosted shredded wheats. Makes sense to me now although it took awhile. Never did figure out what Cole was wanting and although I tried and tried he just cried for 20 minutes. Cleaned up after snack. Wondered how many other moms clean most surfaces in their homes regularly with baby wipes. Filled kettle to make tea. After awhile wondered what was taking so long for the water to heat up. Realized I forgot to turn on the burner.
I wondered when I was going to start remembering things.
Sat down at the computer and managed to get a little bit of work done. Actually set up a facebook page for KQconcepts. I wondered what it actually means to have people "like" you on facebook. Worked on another graphic design project and needed a wallpaper pattern. I think it is funny that when I search for "wallpaper" I get more results for computer screen decor than actual stuff you would hang on your wall. Found out I had to use the word "vintage" or "antique" to find what I was looking for. Suddenly felt old. Wondered why wallpaper made me feel old... that and my knee has been hurting for a week or more...
